Plenty of hotels are located along a cycling route. BLUME. is found along three. Anyone discovering Switzerland on two wheels will almost inevitably pass by BLUME. in Baden – and find exactly what a day on the bike calls for: thermal water, good food and a room filled with history.
Three routes, one destination
BLUME. is located on Kurplatz square, in the heart of the historic spa quarter right on the Limmat River. And this is precisely where three official SchweizMobil cycling routes cross:
- Mittelland Route (No. 5): The most family-friendly of the nine national routes runs 370 kilometres from Lake Constance to Lake Geneva – mostly flat, often car-free, and time and again along the water. Baden is one of its stopover towns.
- Aare Route (No. 8): One of Switzerland’s loveliest river routes. Between Baden and Brugg, it passes through the famous “Wasserschloss of Switzerland,” where the Aare, Reuss and Limmat Rivers meet.
- Goldküste – Limmat (No. 66): This regional route follows the Limmat River westward from Zurich – always along the river, past Fahr Monastery – and ending right in the spa town of Baden. Its baths are the perfect place to unwind at the end of your bike journey
From the saddle into thermal water
What could be better than gliding straight into soothing thermal water after a day’s ride? At BLUME., Switzerland’s most mineral-rich thermal water flows straight from the source into the private bath. Your tired cycling legs will thank you. Add a sauna, a steam room – and the calm ambience of a 600-year-old building.
Good to know for cyclists
BLUME. is well set up for guests arriving by bike: we have our own bike parking, and with the Cityticket Baden included in your stay, you travel free around town on public transport. So if you’d rather skip a stage, you’re all set. In the evening, you will enjoy seasonal cuisine in the Atrium, along with a glass of Ammonit wine from our own vineyard.
Arriving without your own bike?
No problem. Baden has great rail connections and bikes can be hired locally – so you’re off on one of the three routes in no time.
Come on in – and pedal hard
Whether on a grand tour from Lake Constance to Lake Geneva or a leisurely day stage along the Limmat River: BLUME. is the perfect pit stop. Arrive, catch your breath and let the day wind down over a fine meal.
Come and rest – and tomorrow you’ll set off refreshed.
