The three rivers Aare, Reuss and Limmat meet at Brugg. The fairy-tale surroundings that nestle around this area are not called Baden’s Water Castle for nothing. This Swiss natural gem offers cyclists a unique opportunity to experience the beauty and tranquillity of the region.
A paradise for cyclists
After the natural course of the rivers was restored, a floodplain landscape with ponds, gravel and sand banks was created. This picturesque backdrop is ideal for long bike rides and offers a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. If you want to leave the bustling city behind for a while, you will find an oasis of relaxation and nature here.
Numerous cycle paths in Baden
The well-maintained cycle paths lead through varied landscapes, each with its own unique charm. Whether along the gently curving riverbanks or through the dense, green forests – each route offers unforgettable impressions and perfect conditions for nature lovers and sports enthusiasts alike. You can find a detailed cycling map from Aargau Tourism here
A particular highlight is the variety of flora and fauna that can be found in this protected environment. While cycling, you can spot rare bird species, watch dragonflies dance over the ponds and enjoy the calming sounds of nature. Due to the gentle gradient, almost all trails are family-friendly and suitable for all fitness levels.
PS: We people from Aargau also like to refer to the Baden Water Castle as the Amazon of Switzerland – and that certainly means something 😉 !
